What steps can you take to ensure your classroom environment and course materials are accessible to all of your students? Join Disability Resource Center Assistant Director Timothy Pure and Office for Faculty Excellence Faculty Developer Courtney Crimmins to learn about the crucial steps you can take to make your course accessible. The session will walk you through a list of practical action items and offer guidance on essential accessibility tools and technologies. We will explore the crucial differences between accessibility and accommodation, discuss the importance of inclusive practices, and address common challenges instructors face.

Timothy Pure, Ed.M., is the Assistant Director of the DRC. Tim arrived at Montclair State University in the spring of 2023. For much of the past fifteen years, Tim has worked in higher education in the field of disability services. Tim holds his masters degree from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education, where he studied in the Mind, Brain, and Education program. His research interests include transition planning for students ages 14-21, as well as efforts to improve campus climate for students, faculty, and staff with disabilities.
Courtney Glore Crimmins is a Faculty Developer in the Office for Faculty Excellence and serves as OFE's Adjunct Liaison. She is also an Adjunct Faculty member in the Department of World Languages and Cultures, where she teaches German. Her approach to teaching is based in collaborative, project-based learning. In both the face-to-face and online courses she teaches, students work together in small learning groups, explore authentic digital resources, and use technology to learn the language. Courtney has a Ph.D. in Germanic Language and Literature from the University of Michigan.
