Understanding the Teaching Faculty Role for Chairs, PALS and Faculty Leaders Online
This session focuses on understanding the Teaching Faculty role and chairs' and other leaders' role in supporting teaching faculty success. Emily Isaacs, Mary Colon, and Carly Hamilton, Assistant Vice President, Labor Relations, HR will review the contract and discuss what needs to be done to support teaching faculty in successfully preparing for reappointment and success in their roles. You are welcome to bring your questions, ideas, or challenges.

Carly Hamilton is Assistant Vice President, Employee and Labor Relations, Human Resources. As the Assistant Vice President of Employee and Labor Relations, Ms. Hamilton supports positive employee-labor relations including the administration and implementation of the various Collectively Negotiated Agreements at MSU. Ms. Hamilton works collaboratively with University stakeholders to ensure legal compliance with state and federal laws and regulations and manages the day-to-day emerging labor matters.
Mary Colon is the Assistant Vice President for Academic Personnel Services, Academic Affairs. She is the point of contact for all initial inquiries regarding faculty personnel actions, including institutional policies and contracts. She serves as liaison to units campus-wide, maintains the Provost's and the Chairs Forms webpage, coordinates the electronic Instructional Service Reports and updates the online Administrative Calendar and Faculty Handbook.
Interim Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs, Professor in the Department of Writing Studies, and the Managing Director of the OFE, Emily Isaacs has a long record of teaching, scholarship, and service at Montclair State University. She has published numerous articles on teaching writing, writing programming in public higher education, and challenges in higher education.
