OFE Summer Journal Article Writing Community

OFE Summer Journal Article Writing Community Online

Our Journal Article Writing Community offers a guided approach to writing a journal article, breaking down key steps in the process over 12 weeks. In contrast to our regular weekly writing groups, we ask that participants in this community commit to attending most sessions and to doing some additional asynchronous writing each week.

This group weaves accountability, structure, and community into the writing process. Although writing can be a solitary activity, when we work on our separate projects at the same time, we can celebrate and commiserate together.

The basics: there will be a weekly meeting each Tuesday from 1-3. It will begin with guidance to structure the week’s focused work, and then members will use the remaining time to work on their projects.

This group will work best for participants who have a draft (for example, a conference paper or rough outline) already. For those who don’t, some additional work will be needed.

Participants who attend most sessions will receive a certificate from the OFE and, ideally, finish with an article worth sending to journals for consideration.
