News Media 301: Using Social Media to Showcase Your Expertise Online

Social media is not just for influencers and content creators – it’s where nearly half of all U.S. adults say they get their news. In this workshop, the Media Relations team will offer tips and best practices on: how to use each top platform to promote your work; how to engage and share links to your media interviews; and showcase how to build a profile and post to different social platforms.

Andrew Mees is the Media Relations Director at Montclair State University. As the primary media contact for the institution, he oversees a comprehensive, proactive plan to generate earned news media coverage in order to increase awareness of the University and its faculty's expertise.
Professor and Executive Director of the Office for Faculty Excellence, has been at Montclair State University for 25 years. Her areas of research expertise include higher education pedagogy, teaching writing, assessment, and public higher educational practices.
